Preferred Search Ratings

Note: For our site launch in 2003, our rates for advertising are 50% less than the prices quoted on this page. Please see our special offers section for additional reductions in advertising rates.

In 2003, all revenue beyond site development and maintenance costs will be directed to advertising for the coursesforteachers.com portal. This will serve to increase international traffic to your site.

Our preferred search rating service causes your ad to be displayed higher on the list than organizations with a standard (free) listing. (See "How does this work?" below.)

During the initial phase of our operations the preferred rating service can be purchased for $30 US per month.

Preferred search rating and advertising rates will increase as we reach targeted traffic rates, and changes may be made without prior notice. To secure the rates currently available in our introductory phase, you may wish to prepay for a period of up to 24 months. Contact Tanapics with your request for advertising space or a preferred search rating.

How Does This Work?

When teachers visiting this site enter specific criteria for the search (including a number of topics of interest) the request is compared to the information in our database. Course providers that have courses meeting all of the search criteria would have a relevance of 100% and be placed neart he top of the search results, while those that meet fewer criteria would have lower relevance ratings and be placed further down the list.

The Preferred Search Rating Feature adds an additional 100% to you relevance rating (though your actual relevance continues to be displayed beside your listing.) This means that if, for example, your service had a relevance of 25%, the search engine would read your rating as 125%, and place it ahead of all standard ads which can only have a maximum rating of 100%. This ensures prominence for your listings above all standard ads and according to your relevance rating in comparison with other providers who also purchase the preferred search rating.
